As a boxing fan, it sucks that the fight that whole world watched was largely a stinker. Floyd's style at this point is very conservative and not very fan friendly, but I feel for whatever reason Manny doesn't get enough blame for the boring fight. He was the puncher, he was the offensive whirlwind, and in the end he threw less punches than Floyd and made up shit about his shoulder hurting.

They both deserve some blame! Truthfully I was into the fight, it was going about the way I expected. Did any real boxing fan expect an all out war between these two with Floyd in the ring?

I think a lot of people - including a lot of hardcore boxing fans - felt that Manny was going to go out and either one-punch Floyd like he did to Hatton, or throw and land an abundance of punches he he did against a Brandon Rios or Margarito. Floyd is just on another level than even some of the greats Pac fought and struggled against like Morales and JMM.

I enjoyed the fight from the technical standpoint, because it does take incredible skill to subdue an offensive whirlwind like that. But it was sold as a grudge match, the biggest fight of all time, so a technical fencing match is not what people wanted to see, especially for the money they payed.
