    No Lyle. Fans in the U.S. cheer for Broner against any foreigner because he's American. Fenster has proven his point. The reason Mayweather gets booed, even against foreigners, is that there are foreign undercover fans planted in the arena, secretly posing as American fans... so it'll seem like Americans are booing their own. True American fans are denied admission into the fights, and thus cannot cheer for their beloved countryman.

    It's not about being American, its about the name. Since he was the bigger name and was at that point thought of as the next Floyd, people cheered for him. Once he showed that he was an idiot and started losing, everyone roots against him.

    I think it is both. You are correct though Americans seem to love a winner above everything else.
