The guy made a fair point at the start by saying that he doesn't define himself by the arbitrary borders imposed by an island and statehood, but then he seems to contradict that by trying to control people through the arbitrary borders imposed by his man made faith.

It then got very, very rude with the going around the streets telling people what to do aspect. I am just paraphrasing, but something along the lines of 'Do not dress like that in a Muslim area!'. But you said before you don't believe in arbitrary borders and here you are defining geographic areas! It's true that most of the east end cockney's have moved out to Dagenham or even Essex and that is a great shame. Many of the people that have replaced them are ignorant of that areas rich history let alone the wider British Isles and they should be ashamed. Foolish men who pass that stupidity among themselves and pretend it is somehow enlightening and revealing of some greater truth.

Ones relationship with their country is personal and every story is different. People connect to their country in different ways. I will always consider myself British and have a very thorough understanding of my country. It means I accept the good points but will not lie about the bad. I am perfectly calm mate. It was you who said that the chump in the video had a point. I was merely suggesting that the argument you both make does not stack up. You are both deluding yourself if you think where you are born does not define you in any way. Of course like you point out it is not the whole story of who you are but it certainly makes a difference.

The difference like you point out, is that you, like myself, are happy to call yourself British and accept all of that history both good and bad. Considering your education you probably know more about a lot of our history than I do. The guy in the video thinks that being born in a stable does not make him a horse and yet if were to be raised by horses he would certainly neigh a bit and come to appreciate the finer qualities of Hay and a good whinny now and then.

The moral is if you are born in the UK you should adopt our prejudices as well and learn how to tell people to go home, even if that is just your annoying Uncle Raj over here on Holiday
