    Kovalev destroyed cleverly forever.

Seeing Calzaghe upset outside the ring that night made me wonder how he would have fought kovalev that night.

Kovalev is very good, but I don't think he has ever faced a style like that of Joe Calzaghe. I can see Calzaghe going down, but he gets up and finds a way. Unless you can keep Calzaghe down and nobody has, then he is going to get up and outwork you. I could see Calzaghe boxing Kovalev a little bit like he did with Kessler, a slow start as he feels his man out, and sees what his punch is like and then up the tempo until the other man just cannot keep up. Kovalev is a mean man, but Calzaghe is the greatest fighter of all time.

Good fight. Cleverly showed he's not mentally shot, he looked like a character from Fight Club - he enjoyed getting smashed in the face. Anyway, even in defeat he'll get other big fights of that back of that.

Kovalev would have smashed Joe at light heavyweight. Joe only beat old Hopkins and Roy.

Revisionism. Kovalev has only beaten a 50 year old Hopkins and still went the distance. He's good but he will get tested and revisionism will work on him too.

Forget revisionism, it is harsh reality. Joe was past his best at a higher weight and was knocked down in those fights.

Kovalev will be too. All boxers are in the end. The difference is that Calzaghe was TBE. Kovalev would have a nightmare against a Calzaghe. All fighters did. Kovalev is only human and has only beaten Hopkins and an average Pascal. He is very good, but all in good time.
