Many of the outreach workers from the Risky Business were infact replicating methods pioneered by feminist youth work projects from the mid 1970's. They were ignored by largely male Police officers in a case where gangs of men thought it their right to treat young female children, teenagers and women with disdain and violence. These men blamed the victims, accusing them of colluding with the perpetrators and not being deserving of help.
