I think it would be better. That thing about avoiding injuries is a crock of bull and has never been proven. + let these modern day slackers earn their huge purses

Absolutely, they should. It didn't do Marciano, SRR, SRL, or Duran any harm. These guys fight once or twice a year these days, so they should bank an extra half a dozen rounds for their money. Bad things seldom happen and if they do then they do. I don't see anyone getting all irate about cars or bees and yet boxing gets demonised and watered down because very occasionally bad things happen. It's a weight loss issue more than an extra few rounds of boxing issue.

I would go for it, I can't remember the days of 15 round fights, it would certainly make some fights a little more interesting.

for example, the Eubank JR v Billy Joe Saunders fight, how would that have gone if it was another 3 rounds? would BJS have let Eubank Jr into the fight after 6 rounds? would we have seen a knock out between the 13th/15th round because both of them were dog tired.

but at the same time they both fought a good hard fight and it was close as fuck at the end, if it went 15 rounds and one of them had a KO against them it could be seen as being a little unfair

I've always said they need to bring 15 rounds back. There really is no reason we shouldn't have them. I would however, limit them to legit titles and not every strap that someone holds because there are definitely worthless fights I don't want to see go the extra 3 rounds.

Those 3 extra rounds help the champion and why they are called the champions rounds. You beat the champion you earned it.

I have always been a fan of the 15 rounders in the past.

But it is not going to happen, so the fight is to keep 12 rounders for as long as possible.

There's not much chance of 12 round fights being reduced at this current time because we now have far bigger boxing cards on far more TV channels. In Britain, long gone are the days of showing just the main event, the promoters/TV get slaughtered well in advance as we know everything that is planned.

I thought they may have thought it out and made them 13 rounders to avoid any draws.

So now they should go hard or go home.

I do not know if you remember, but the 'USBA' tried that in the late 80s:

The problem is the fighters finish and then wait maybe five minutes for a decision, and then mentally as well as physically have to get ready to fight another three minutes knowing they have to win the round...

Although good on paper, I can understand why it was just not practical in the end.
