I can see where people feel the stoppage was premature. That being said, I thought it was a fair stoppage. The fact that Peter didn't protest much and didn't seem eager for rematch tells me he was buzzed significantly.
Read a post earlier discussing GGG vs Jacobs. I like Jacob and Quillen but GGG destroys both of those guys. Guess each have a punchers chance and some athleticism but I see GGG stopping both early.
I agree, Quillin did not seem eager for a rematch.

No problem with the stoppage. If the fighter getting stopped thinks it's OK then it's absolutely ridiculous for fans to argue it's not (by the way, there is no standing 8 count in title fights).
After staggering across the ring from the final temple shot, Quillin was bopping on the spot like a drunk grandad at a wedding. He didn't even react to the ref grabbing him.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
As far as I'm concerned, Quillin is finished as a top Boxer.
Yea. I was just saying that he was pretty much done. To me, he was out of it from when he ducked Korobov to fight Lee. That didn't work out well for him at all. And now, Jacobs was calling him out for a hot minute or two....and now we see why?! Jacobs had a feeling he had a chalk on Quillin, and so he did.
To be fair, I would have let Quillin continue for about another ten seconds. But, as the rules state, if the ref has any reason to administer any time outside of a foul, when the standing 8 count is not in effect, then the fight has to be stopped.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!
