Matchroom said they weren't prepared to give Blackwell more than £120,000. Apparently Jr is already on bigger than that, so the fight didn't make sense for them. They certainly wouldn't have expected to get the elbow though. Hence why old Bazza did his nut

so say eubank is on £150,000 and they wanted to give Blackwell £120,000

then you add the sanctioning fee and other bits and bats of £30,000 then matchroom decided their purse bid would be £300,000

I think what Matchroom and BJS have alluded to is why does a fighter prefer to fight for a British Title on Channel 5 than a World Title on Sky?

Yep. So if Matchroom wouldn't pay Blackwell more than £120k, then Eubank would have to get the same because the BBBOC have requested the fight. They couldn't give Eubank more , so team Eubank said fuck it.
