I won't believe it till it's officially announced , but if this comes off, I would be more than satisfied. A good test with a proper LHW , and Barrera has everything to fight for as well.
all everybody wants is for Ward to fight regularly. He's got bags of talent , but he needs to use it. Here's hoping.

That's definitely a fight if it happens. Barrera is a really big LHW and looks solid(if a bit stiff from what I can recall) he has nothing to lose and it's a big opportunity for him. I'd guess Ward will be to good, but it's the right kind of fight for him to take at 175. I have no problem with him fighting KOvalev either, I'm not of the opinion that established top fighters have to prove themselves over again moving up in weight, especially when they become the best challenger immediately upon doing so. Stevenson isn't going to fight KOvalev, who else is there, why not Ward if he actually wants it?

My biggest problem with Ward is he took a seat and has done next to nothing in four years. You can only reheat leftovers so long and then patrons want to watch you cut an onion. Ok. That was stupid, just went full Teddy. Never go full Teddy! But respects for going with Barrera and stepping it up. If he thinks this is another robotic lead foot Rodriquez he'll be in for a surprise.

It's definitely a decent test at 175 for him. If he wins in his usual horrible to watch way and being in with a bigger guy doesn't trouble him he is unfortunately going to do well against Kovalev. I'd love to see him get sparked though.

Good news I think, how about you?
Ward vacated his 168lb crown a long time ago!

When was the last time the guy had a fight?

He is a 168lb version of Amir Khan; pi$$ing his prime away whilst talking a lot, but not actually doing any fighting, even though there are some mouthwatering contests he could partake in.

Man if there is a elite fighter i could careless about i mean he has not done anything in for ever. His last big win was Froch and that was fucking ages ago i think Russian has been doing nothing but improving and been beating top guys i think that fight be another name for him.

Some great points there. Its like the guy was waiting on Floyd to retire or something. He also took the reversal of the risk/reward ideal to a new level. Was unable to play bridesmaid after busting out of that shabbily run tournament. He probably expected to be neck and neck with Floyd in the PPV sweepstakes. I mean "SOG"....really? I'm sure his default response when asked about it is some practiced reference to Christ. I was half expecting him to carry a cross at some point during his self imposed exile dressed up as a bogus legal claim.

Thing is he probably was good enough to get his contract renegotiated but he had to fight first. Not sure how that escaped him.

He overplayed his hand and knackered himself. I bet the doors of his house were custom made for him to fit his head through. Now of course he will repeat that behaviour and expect different results.
The fight with Sullivan Barrera is supposed to be all but done and if I was a gambler and had the disposable income I'd throw a few bucks on Barrera. Abel Sanchez will have that Cuban ready. Even money that the fight falls apart though and Wards crew will come up with some reason.

    See @Memphis @IamInuit understood what I said.
