Ben had to lose 6lb on the day for his fight with Eubank, he lost 2lb running 3 miles on the tread mill fully clothed and 2lb shadowboxing in a sauna for 45 minutes.
Benn lost the fight due to Eubank being the stronger fighter but contributing factors were swollen eye by the thumb and losing the weight on the last day.
Benn’s contract stipulated that he earn 4 times the amount Eubank was to receive. Eubank got £100K.
Hearn said he made no big money on the contract but as Arum did not put options in the contract Hearn could get Eubank to defend the title against whoever he wished.
