Khan versus Gercia is worth whatever Haymon is willing to pay for it. Seeing as both guys are signed to Haymon and so nobody else can bid up the fight Haymon can probably pay about $2.5 million split in Garcia's favour and that's it.
If Khan loses, and it's definitely possible he gets timed/chinned again, he has to have at least one rebuilding fight and hope Brook keeps winning in the meantime before he can go for the payday. And he may not get more than 50/50 with another loss. Another loss knocks the fight's PPV/ticket marketablility in Britain too.
The WBC would be fine letting Khan/Garcia both have one fight more before they fight each other. Money talks. Is Khan really going to risk his biggest career payday to fight Garcia for a nettage of around half a million quid? He's not getting any younger, he's obviously after big money fights and as he gets older and his time without a belt gets longer is he really going to keep ignoring the big money fight he can have?
Reality is Khan v Brooks sells whatever happens to Khan, even if he loses. If mugs pay for Floyd v Pac Man 5 years past its best then this can sell in the UK too.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I kinda hear what you're saying hear . Maybe he does want legacy like you say, and that's why he waits on Floyd and Manny and because he's worth a few bob, he won't take fights that he "thinks" are below him.
That doesn't mean he isn't deluded or arrogant. And it doesn't mean everyone should cater to his every whim.
At the end of the day, in this sport, you should have to keep proving yourself and you shouldn't get by on name alone . I know it doesn't always work like that.
I also appreciate that Brook needs to fight some top guys for the same reasons.
Khan gets an awful lot of credit for two rounds against Garcia, that's all he won, two rounds. Garcia was completely overawed with Khans speed in the first 6 minutes, that's hardly surprising. Garcia dominated the third with body punching and should have had a stoppage win there and then. Baylis went from wanting to get Khan killed in the third to not wanting to give him a chance in the fourth.
Khan 'can' beat Garcia, I don't doubt that, but Garcia is the favourite for me. He knows how to beat Khan and it's a pretty simple formula.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Khan has a big ego but that chin of his lets him down he may well want revenge,! but in the rematch he will out box Garcia again till he gets hit then the same out come as the first fight.
At the top the very best have a good chin Khan never has simple, all the speed and boxing ability but just lacking with the old chin of glass.
Wants to take a 'warm up' fight with Berto or Rios before Garcia or Brook
I think he should go straight at it and skip those.
I haven't heard about this, has it been mentioned? I heard his Dad say they want to fight in March, but never said who.
I can't believe it'll be Berto, aren't they both in the same stable?
Could be Rios I suppose, he's a bit of a punchbag that Khan will look good hitting, but if he starts walking through Khan's punches, he could make Khan look average.
Brook-Khan doesn't sell regardless of what happens to Khan. Being based in America, and so inactive, has made him borderline irrelevant in the UK. He never has been involved in a massive selling mega fight. He's the A-side against Brook but not by a million miles, they need each other for a mega seller.
Does he risk his career getting binned in a massive payday against Brook or keep picking up a million squid a fight in the States? You can see why his team are ducking Brook.
Even Floyd told him this week he should be fighting Brook![]()
