Having thought more about this one, I don't like it much anymore and almost agree with Brook

Putting aside what you think of the match and Canelo taking it, these guys are almost opposites, style vs substance. Khan is so fast that people get it confused with being skilled, Alvarez has plodding feet so people assume he is without them. Canelo is actually a considerably better boxer imo, I'd be shocked if Khan could do much in this one.

For some reason, I didn't even think about this being PPV. That makes it an even bigger joke.

24 hours later I hate it even more Can't believe a few are buying into it. Now I get rooting for a hometown bwoy or Countryman but the 'Khan gets massive respect for this' has to goooo. Khan is a victim of his own star struck infatuation, he got so stuck on chasing a mega fight with Mayweather he got stuck in tunnel vision. A CW or division jump against stacked odds is one thing IF a guy does work and takes names in his already stacked division first. Khan has been in limbo and done what...Alexander? Respect comes when you give yourself the best possibility of victory and maximizing your best assets. When you do work and face existing challenges. Bloating to 155 lbs will cost him his cherished speed, that body will be worked on brutally and he might as well be tossing snowballs at a Canelo who will undoubtedly be 180 ish come fight night. What happened here is Khan answered the phone and was told he won the lottery, that's it. He saw event and cash that has eluded him..partially his own fault and is jumping the shark here. Then on the other end Canelo and Oscar hung up the phone and proceeded to roll on the floor laughing there arses off! Probably still there. Chris Algieri bulled Khan, he backed him throughout and rocked Khan at least once. Chris Algiei! Also..Canelo should be pointed at and laughed at for bringing cherry picking to a whole new level.

This is when boxing turns into Reality TV boxing with built in excuses, huge paydays for both and a wink and nod to each other. Don't drink the Kool aid...and its PPV (Oscar) (Canelo) (Khan)

I agree. At first I was thinking 'downright odd but something different', but the more I think of it it is a piss take mismatch. Canelo should be ashamed at this. Khan clearly has balls and dollar signs flashing around his head, but that's not enough to warrant what will likely be a nasty beat down. I don't like Khan and it is always funny seeing him lose, but this could be just downright cruel and that's a step too far. It's not right.

When I heard of this I thought , oh that's an interesting fight, then I remembered alvarez is the middleweight champion :S..... Pretty bad match up and I don't think it is going to go well for khan at all but hopefully canelo wins in style and hbo keep pushing for the golovkin alvarez fight afterwards..

I do like how khan refered to it as a fight for the 155lb title :S

You know who I really respect? Algeri because he fought pac for a career high payday. You know who else? Berto fighting mayweather for a career high payday. Those two went against the best and the odds were stacked against them but they took the fight anyways. Even though they did make a ton of money, and got exposure, they took the fight because they are tough, respectable fighters.

So don't go thinking khan is just about the money and exposure. He is for sure doing it because he is tough and wants to fight the best. I know this because he fought all of the top welters and cleaned them out and now fighting a middle is his only option left.

Someone needs to phone social services. This is no way for a father to treat his son. Big money beat down on the cards for Khan.

This will be a complete and utter wipe-out. If Khan makes it past round 1, it will be seen as an achievement. It's a freak match-up.

I almost think it's political. With Muslim Khan being set up to be hurt badly by Oscar and Golden Boy. Seeing Khan KO'd fully stretched out mid ring leaving a full body oily stain on the canvas would be great. What Khan represents is America's enemies who they are at war with.

I honestly don't like this fight at all. Really something weird is going on.

I have a feeling Donald Trump will be the ring announcer ...

@denilson200, that's a bit bizarre but you are entitled to your opinion.

Co-signed. Khan gets shitted on by a lot people. Now he decides stop calling out Mayweather and accepts a challenge in which the odds and physical advantages are stacked against him, he still gets heat for it.

Why take the Kell Brook fight if it's still going to be there anyway regardless of the outcome of this fight? You can't accuse him of ducking Brook either because he's fighting Canelo Fucking Alvarez instead.

I 100% understand why khan signed. He did it for the money. The exact reason he wanted the mayweather and pac fights. If he wanted to prove he was the best, he would fight a top welter

Yep, I agree. He wanted mayweather got strung along. He wanted Pacquiao, got strung along by arum. Canelo is 3rd biggest name out there as far as money for a single show goes.

Khan thinks he can replicate Laras performance with more flash and flurries. Without the lateral movement hes a sitting duck. Canelo wings and telegraphs his punch so the should be easy to spot mostly. But canelo caught trout and lara onec or twice. Personally I think khan will hang in the pocket too long and get clipped. At that point canelo either chases him around on jelly legs or he tries to fight canelo off and gets rag dolled like kirkland.

They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

At least somebody in the Khan camp has a clear head. Here's Hunter the trainer:

"Amir is bigger than Floyd, longer and at this time, I know when he's in good shape, his tank is much fuller because of his age," Khan told Sky Sports News HQ. "But definitely that's the fight you want to look at and see where you can capitalise on, but also add a few edges to it that maybe Floyd didn't do that night because he had control of that fight from very early. Amir also possesses enough pop to keep him honest."

So all Khan has to do to win is box like Floyd Mayweather and maybe even add a few things that Floyd didn't need. I don't know why Khan never thought of it before. He could have boxed like Floyd against Garcia and won easily. Peterson as well. He definitely would have got a fight against Floyd or Manny if he'd just boxed like Floyd and won all the fights he's lost.

Cinco De Mayo, the T-Mobile arena, Las Vegas, just before the first bell. "You can win this fight easily Amir. Just go out there and box like Floyd. He won't be able to get near you."
