THat was the point I forgot to make, this is far to short notice for either of them to switch up their cyclesIf the fight were in 6 months in Texas or something, THompson could get on that A side and have a decent chance.

He'll get a shot at the winner of Fury Wlad, which ought to make him champ if he can win it, but it wont, to be the champ he'll have to beat Chagaev or Browne or Oquendo. No seriously.

Ortiz keeps it up he'll have more 'interim' title fights than some champs have actual defenses, what is this 5. Thompson looked like a gelatinous dinosaur last out and given short notice, age, questionable drive and King Kong this should be a power punching showcase for Ortiz. Bit of a dud for HBO main event but Ali v Vargas undercard could be decent.
