SUPER-FLYWEIGHT:

Number three Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (38-4-1, 35 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over unrated novice Arega Yunian (3-6, 0 KOs). No changes.

LIGHT-FLYWEIGHT:

Number ten Rey Loreto (21-13, 13 KOs) knocked out an unknown opponent in the first round. No changes.

Pascal tumbles to eighth. Andrzej Fonfara (28-3, 16 KOs), Eleider Alvarez (19-0, 10 KOs) and Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (15-0, 12 KOs) all move up a spot each to fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.

SUPER-MIDDLEWEIGHT:

Number four George Groves (22-3, 17 KOs) stopped unrated Andrea Di Luisa (18-4, 14 KOs) in five rounds. No changes.

FEATHERWEIGHT:

MINIMUMWEIGHT:

Number three Knockout CP Freshmart (12-0, 6 KOs) won a decisive twelve round unanimous decision in a rematch against previous number six Carlos Buitrago (28-2-1, 16 KOs). Although the initial clash was very close; this bout left little doubt as to who had won. Buitrago slips a spot to seventh. Kosei Tanaka (6-0, 3 KOs) moves up from seventh to six.

Nice work if it's yours or whoevers, but why is Andre Ward listed as light heavyweight champion? He has never fought anyone in that division. I guess if you have Alvarez there as a middleweight you've got to be consistent There HAS to be a certain point where these alphabet gangs are going to strip these guys and just declare a vacant title bout between the best guys who actually fight there.

Under my Ratings Policy any time a Champion weighs in under his Championship weight and fights in a twelve round bout then the Championship will be on the line.

Here are a few examples of dual-championship fights from history:

World Lightweight and World Junior welterweight Titles- Champion Tony Canzoneri/Challenger Jackie "Kid" Berg- Limit- 135; (weights not available); Winner- Canzoneri UD 15

World Lightweight and World Junior Welterweight Titles- Champion Tony Canzoneri/Challenger Kid Chocolate- Limit- *135; (weights not available); Winner- Canzoneri SD 15 (*- Note: Had Canzoneri made the 130-pound limit, which he didn't, he would have been awarded Kid Chocolate's World Junior Lightweight title. An interesting fact, Armstrong should have lost the lightweight and welterweight championships to Lou Ambers in August 1939, both weighed in under 135. The officiating was horrible but we have to respect the official decision even if we don't agree with it.

You can add in Leonard/ LaLonde, the Mayweather/ Maidana fights and now Mayweather/ Pacquiao.

My policy is pretty clear; if a champion fights under his championship weight in a twelve round bout then the title is on the line. When you start picking and choosing and muddying the waters it becomes no better than the alphabet boys. Or you get situations like Judah or Peterson holding belts they should have lost.

He won his Championship in the ring under the required weight limit (according to the commission rules a contest with fighters weighing between 161 lbs – 175 lbs has a maximum weight difference allowance of 12 pounds), both Dawson and Ward weighted in at 168. The Rodriguez and Smith fights also qualified as defences.

It's not very common these days for a number of reasons. For example you have to have two champions from different divisions willing to face each other, with the higher weight holder willing to weigh under the lighter division limit. Normally a fighter wants every advantage possible so dual weight championship fights are rare.

These examples were to show that even though Dawson was not at his championship weight his title was on the line.

Also the Light-heavy linage is pretty messy but you could make a case that it leads back to Ward.

Back in his corner at the conclusion of the tenth round Afolabi advised the ref that he was no longer able to see out of his left eye and the bout was waived off. Afolabi exits. Thabiso Mchunu (16-2, 10 KOs) moves up from tenth to ninth. Tony Bellew (26-2-1, 16 KOs) comes aboard at number ten.

SUPER-LIGHTWEIGHT:

Number five Terence Crawford (28-0, 20 KOs) stopped fringe contender Hank Lundy (26-6-1, 13 KOs) in five rounds. No changes.

FEATHERWEIGHT:

Number four Leo Santa Cruz (32-0-1, 18 KOs) scored a fifth round stoppage over previous number five Super-Bantamweight Kiko Martinez (35-7, 26 KOs) in an entertaining scarp. No changes.

Frampton won the early rounds with Quigg starting slow but coming on later in the fight. Both guys hold their rankings. Previous number five Kiko Martinez (35-7, 26 KOs) exits after being stopped in five rounds by number four Featherweight Leo Santa Cruz (32-0-1, 18 KOs) at that weight. Hugo Ruiz (36-3, 32 KOs) advances from ninth to fifth after avenging his defeat to previous number six Julio Ceja (30-2, 27 KOs) with a first round stoppage in an immediate rematch. Ruiz landed a big right hand that dropped Ceja awkwardly injuring his right leg. Ceja got to his feet but it was clear the injury had left him unable to defend himself against Ruiz’ follow up assault. Ceja remains at six. Luis Rosa (22-0, 10 KOs) moves up from tenth to ninth. Tyson Cave (28-3, 11 KOs) enters at tenth.

LIGHT-FLYWEIGHT:

Jesse Espinas (13-2, 9 KOs) crashes the ratings at number seven after scoring an upset victory over previous number two Paipharob Kokietgym (32-1, 25 KOs). Espinas stopped Kokietgym in eight rounds. Kokietgym tumbles to tenth. Everyone rated three through seven previously moves up a place each. Last week’s number ten Rey Loreto (21-13, 13 KOs) is pushed out of the ratings.
