Hearn knows Joshuas limitations.
Watch the Whyte fight back and watch that second round how stiff Joshua looked. Whyte may never have the finesse to take advantage but lots of fighters would have jabbed his head off, out maneuvered him and finished him off when he was hurt. There were pounts he was falling over himself throwing shots because he was so off balance, rolling his whole upper body down. He didnt look world class at all. He just happened to be a bit fitter than Whyte.
Hearn isnt going to put him in with a big undefeated southpaw.
The fact an opponent hasnt already been lined up for early April shows you Hearns predicament to find someone who can test Joshua without beating him.
An old experienced warhorse like Arreola may have finished Joshua in the second. It could have looked like Haye v Thompson and Price v Thompson, or Bruno v Witherspoon.

Yes. Even if they do fancy beating Martin the problem is once he's got a title everybody is going to expect him to fight Haye or Fury or Wilder. After his last fight they're going to want to bring him on a bit slower than throwing him in for a title fight next time out.

Looking at the current rankings he'd be defending the title against the names they're mentioning anyway. Being the massive draw he already is they could easily get away with several defenses before making the "super" fights.
