That's a beautiful thing right there Andre. I would have been 5 years old when this happened, so can not pretend to remember it, but it does call to mind the World of Sport and Grandstand coverage here in Britain during that time, thru to the early eighties. Sometimes it would be delayed coverage of a Big fight in America from the night before, or live Amateur stuff from this side of the pond etc.
I love the contrast and mini celebration of difference that this represents. The American and British Co commentators being so distinct and better for it. For us even relatively recently back then in the 70's America was still very exotic and remote, the land of Cowboys, and being both real and hyper real at the same time, with Jeans and Disneyland.
I love that fact that Hearns, still far from the fighter he would become, reverts to street fighter in the final round a bit, and it keeps Pryor honest. The genuine congratulations at the end, the non stop action, nice mix of styles, it's just a great nine minutes.
