Seems sad to me that they are cashing out Provo at this point by feeding him to bigger fighters that are just looking for another pug to slice and dice. It's the nature of the sport, but it's the ugly side where the only guys willing to fight a bomber like Provo are guys that are probably too big to feel his punches at their full power. Then again the sports becoming an oxymoron (as said above)... you can't really call it "sport" when everyone's trying to guarantee victory through weight issues, roids, and other types of under the table leverage.

He's been in a lot of good exciting fights with Bradley, matthysse, and others. Get this guy a decent scrap with a guy he could possibly hurt but can't steamroll. See what he does under his new trainer and polish him as a gatekeeper. Make matches with Postol, Mikey Garcia (if he ever fights again), broner, or jessie Vargas types ...
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Crawford has limited options. Haymon isn't going to want to let him near any of his fighters and Manny is supposed to be retired after his next fight. So Arum has to match him with whoever's available and who HBO will want to show. Provodnikov ticks both boxes.

Provodnikov is another so called name to add to Crawford's record. I'd really like to see the Postol fight next but I just see it getting passed over for bigger money fights.

If Pacquiao wins then I'm almost positive he sticks around and that's the fight Crawford will (understandably) chase.

I really feel the Broner fight gets made...

Broner has balls and might be delusional enough to think he could beat Crawford, but that puts him well on the way to gatekeeper status and I think people around him wouldn't let it happen.

I don't think Crawford / Provo tells us anything we don't know. Crawford would give Prov a bit of a hiding. In an ideal World, Crawford would fight Postol or Matthysse and if Manny beats Bradley (which he won't ) , Crawford could end Manny's career.

Honestly and respect to the house of 140...Crawford should stop wasting his time and move up! He looks like he carries weight like its nothing and fully natural or easy to make. He is just hammering nails here. Postol would be great and top style match but I think he kicks in the door at welter where its stacked.
