McCall is someone everybody forgets, but he has some tools. Strong chin, one punch ko power, experience. He has been there and done that. If he connects with any of the top guys, it's lights out. More than a punchers chance here.IMO![]()

He has credibility issues
Which oliver are you going to get? The one that KOed Lewis or the one that quit and couldn't stop crying against Lewis.
True, but he has beem on a streak and has not had a nervous breakdown in some time. Hell, he appears to be more lucid then Toney.Originally Posted by lance Uppercut

he's a bum.
49-8 WITH 36 KO'S. WHILE HIS OPPOSITION HAS BEEN INFERIOR, HE STILL HAS WON A LOT OF FIGHTS. AS FOR BEING A "BUM," I HAVE ALWAYS MAINTAINED A POSTURE THAT ANYONE WHO GETS INTO THE RING WHERE THE ONLY DEPENDENCE ON YOUR SAFETY RESTS WITH THE REF OR YOUR CORNER, IS NOT A "BUM." ANYONE WHO ENTER THE RING HAS A MODICUM OF COURAGE. STILL, I KNOW IT'S A BIT OF A SANCTOMONIUS POSITION, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO STAY WITH IT AS A WRITER. MOREOVER, IF OLIVER IS A BUM, WHAT IS LENNOX?
DAFT? MAYBE. A BUM, NO.
Rahman beat lewis too it happens as does the random disfunction of your caps lock key (i would get that looked at). Lewis dropped the ball twice in his career and avenged those losses making them both a non issue. Do you see the records of the guys mccall fought? After having over 50 fights under his belt he's allowed to fight someone with a 13-4 record? He barely out pointed a 45 year old holmes. After 32 fights he dropped a 6-0 maskaev, wow what a tough guy. Yeah you can say he beat lewis but i fully maintain my belief that if it happens once and you can't repeat what you did before that makes it a fluke.
Still don't think he is a bum. 48-9 is a righteous record. As for my cap locks, don't let it ruin your day, mate. You will get over it.![]()

Oliver McCall was alright years ago , but even as a young fighter, he could never keep it together. He had a good chin , and a good punch. but lacks in so many other crucial areas. that’s why they keep him fighting at the club fighter level. at a certain level anyone can shine and build a record.. look at Valueve . 40 some fights and they finally rise him a bit above club level... in the old days you would have fought at least 5 legends by the time you had 40 fights !
now Oliver has a decent go beating the likes of an old Larry Holmes and so on, caught Lewis with a good shot, but he never had the mental fortitude to ride the wave ~ the "atomic bull" could never take the bull by the horns !

He hasn't fought anybody of note lately (2 years)
I do kinda see your point though. I watched his last fight. he didn't totally stink. He needs to have some better outings against some top guys. Can he do that at 41?
he could fair well versus Maskaev but only him , rest of the champs make him quit again
He already beat maskaev after 30 some fights of experience.Originally Posted by mikeboxing

I think ya gotta kinda like Oleg, A mine worker form kazakstan!??!
How hard a job is that?? you know he's gotta be tough! His chin is the question mark. But he makes for exciting fights trying to bang guys out of there and risking the big KO loss to do it.
after peter wins his belt hopefully he's not dicussed about ever again.
Yes, Peter will ko him within 7.
He got one lucky punch ... it doesn't make him exactly a one punch ko artist. I think Peter would take him out in 2 rounds.
