HEAVYWEIGHT:
Luis Ortiz (25-0, 22 KOs) strengthens his ranking at fourth with a sixth round knockout over veteran gatekeeper Tony Thompson (40-7, 27 KOs). Ortiz dropped Thompson in rounds one and three; before dropping him for the count in round six. Lucas Browne (24-0, 21 KOs) enters the ratings at number nine after getting off the canvas in round six to drop and then finish fringe contender Ruslan Chagaev (34-3-1, 21 KOs) in the tenth round. Previous number nine Vyacheslav Glaskov (21-1-1, 13 KOs) exits for the time being.
WELTERWEIGHT:
Jessie Vargas (27-1, 10 KOs) enters at number seven after scoring a ninth round stoppage over Sadam Ali (22-1, 13 KOs) who previously held that spot. Ali exits.
BANTAMWEIGHT:
Shinsuke Yamanaka (25-0-2, 17 KOs) had to get off the canvas twice in round three, but floored number six Liborio Solis (23-4-1, 10 KOs) in the second and ninth rounds to win a tough twelve round unanimous decision. Yamanaka trades places with Jamie McDonnell (27-2-1, 12 KOs).
LIGHT-FLYWEIGHT:
Ganigan Lopez (27-6, 17 KOs) rockets into the ratings at fourth on the strength of his twelve round majority decision over previous number three Yu Kimura (18-3-1, 3 KOs) in a fight where Lopez was the clear winner. Kimura falls to sixth. Moises Fuentes (23-2-1, 12 KOs) moves up a place to third. Everyone rated six through ten last week shuffles down a place to accommodate Lopez’ entry; with Piapharob Kokietgym (32-1, 25 KOs) falling out of the ratings.
MINIMUMWEIGHT:
Number two Wanheng Menayothin (41-0, 16 KOs) stopped unranked Go Odaira (12-5-3, 1 KO) in five rounds. No changes.
