Well guys like Holyfeild, Leonard, Spinks and so on were confident they felt they could win and would walk through hell top do so because they believed they could win and were better fighters. Lewis is a guy who was confident but got over the top to arrogance hence him getting koed.

Tito was silently confident and Vargas was arrogantly confident. Only difference is Vargas looked foolish afterwards whereas if Tito lost he would not have.

I look at it as Confidence + Negligence = Arrogance. You can be confident but when you neglect what could go wrong, you're just being a jerk. When you take care of the details (practice, train, press yourself to be better and proficient at what you do, it goes a long way toward removing negligence/doubt and building confidence. It affords you the humility that becomes the deciding factor in keeping you confident but grounded. 2 fighters can have the same amount of confidence, but the one that believes he still has reason to be cautious avoids crossing over into arrogance. A man possesses confidence where as arrogance possesses the man.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
