    ill give you those

Im sure if you asked Louis Armstrong what he felt about Prince as a Jazz artist he would wee in his pants

or Robert Plant about prince as a rock artist

To answer your question, Armstrong would love Prince. Armstrong was all about being a performer and an entertainer. He did it all for his fans. Even when he was told by doctors to stay off the road and rest in his old age, he refused to settle down. There was no better performer/entertainer than Prince. 3 hour shows with a full band, dancing, changing outfits, playing multiple instruments, choreography, elaborate stages. Prince was all about the showmanship and pleasing his fans and giving his all.

As for Robert Plant I bet he loves and respects Prince because he was the real deal. But really-- What does Robert Plant know about rock? He was a singer who ripped off poor black American artist's songs -- and who's band became a Tolkien/Hobbit/Celtic obsessed joke.

Interesting that Prince has never sold the amount of records as Elvis to Michael Jackson or even Mariah Carey- YET!!

No one has had more influence over stars than the Purple One- directly/indirectly.

One of Sinead Oconner's biggest song "Nothing Compares to you" A Prince remake.
R & B singer Chaka Khan hadn't had a hit since the previous decade- she breaks out with "I Feel for you" A Prince remake.

Fine little Sheena Easton's last big hit "You got the Look" A Duo with Prince.

One night- his opening band The Time couldn't play because their bass player Terry Lewis and Keyboardist Jimmy Jam missed their flight due to a snow storm- while trying to do side work with a singer named Cherelle.- Prince behind the curtain- played bass--then fired both guys.

Point- Both guys out of work -before heading back to Minneapolis ran into a fan- her name : Janet Jackson. They talked. Then all 3 went to Minneapolis and recorded what would be her biggest selling album/cd CONTROL.

Only to be outdone next by Rhythm Nation-

Had Prince #1- dug these guys up from his high school band #2. Fired them....The world would NOT have had Janet and all the Janet wannabes with their 20 dancer- choreographed routines! LOL!

His influence so huge- a dude name Kenny Edmonds would fashion his band after Prince's Revolution.
Take a look at the photos of a band called The Deal- Total Prince wannabes. the lead singer would go on to produce hit after hits for stars like Toni Braxton. Talking about none other than BabyFace.

Prince's sax Player Eric Lead went on to do some seriously heave Fusion Jazz with a band called Madhouse.

No pop whatsoever. Serious Funk to Fusion, though.

Alicia Keys has remade Prince's How Come U Don't call me anymore- another hit from a remake.

Most telling for me- was going to a Prince concert and seeing SO MANY FINE WOMEN wearing camisoles and bikinis...to a CONCERT! You will only see a scene like that at Daytona Spring Break.

Few artists can write songs that can be remade by artists of both gender, different races to different genres of music.

My name is Prince -And I am Funky. On the first day- God made the world. One the 7th day- He made me. My name is Prince the One and Only....
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!

Prince was great, very talented but I think the news was a bit overblown but I understand music is subjective. I fear the day when Dylan leaves the earth.

I think it has been noticed enough, Prince should be bigger than Miacheal Jackson.

I know what you mean. The death of Bowie really knocked me for six and I am thinking about death a lot. I was thinking the other day "What must it be like to be Paul McCartney in his mid 70's?" What do you think about? Does death begin to permeate every thought? 'I am the last one standing, but soon it will be me'. Do you just have to accept it? How can you? When you are young you are immortal and when your heroes are all dying, the shield is gone. It's terrifying. My wife says it's me and that I think about things too much, but if I am dying with every creak at this age, then god knows what is ahead or how sensitive old people feel. The old guys are all now really old and it feels so strange to be at this point.

Yeah a shame so many will mourn an athlete or entertainer regardless of race or ethnicity.

But if an upright person who tried to bring peace to the world, they're only respected by a certain segment of their nation.

I heard a radio station doing a Prince tribute & had to laugh when callers said he was a believer in God & A Jehovah's. Witness. Maybe so... but his music was stacked with songs like Pussy Control, Irresistible Bitch, Sexy MuthaFucka', Erotic City, Head, DMSR -Dance Music Sex Romance, I'll Jack. U Off, Horny Toad....
    Ill stop there..
Talented entertainer, skilled on drums, piano, guitar

But a spiritual man? Searching maybe.....
