Because hunting is EVIL! Why can't he just go to the grocery store and get his food like a regular person and see that way no animals are harmed

It would be pretty obvious that this animal was not like the others, through a scope or sight glass.

Besides, given the state of the species as a whole and whats happening to them hunting them should be illegal PERIOD.
