Arguably, his 'prime' years were the 3 years he spent in exile, but that's only speculation on my part.
The Ali that beat Cleveland Williams & Zora Foley was the best Ali we ever saw & arguably the finest HW ever.
If Doug Jones could goad a young inexperienced Clay into a fight....pretty much anyone could.
I've always stated 64-67 Ali=undefeatable. Should've been 64-70....
The strange thing is that the exile of Ali created Frazier and the biggest fight ever. If that did not happen Joe may have got beaten by Ali as just another contender.
