"I broke my back!"
"What do you mean by that?"
"My back is broken!"

^How can I leave out the engrossing Iron Mike:
"I'm gonna fade into Bolivian"
I was gonna rip his heart out. I’m the best ever. I’m the most brutal and vicious, the most ruthless champion there has ever been. No one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No! He’s no Alexander! I’m Alexander! I’m the best ever. I’m Sonny Liston. I’m Jack Dempsey. There’s never been anyone like me. I’m from their cloth. There is no one who can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I’m the ferocious. I want his heart! I want to eat his children! Praise be to Allah!

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
"Honey I forgot to duck"
Jack Dempsey
"If you screw things up in tennis, it's 15-love. If you screw up in boxing, it's your ass."
Randall Cobb

“The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs. It’s the same thing, fear, but it’s what you do with it that matters.” – Legendary trainer, Cus D’Amato
"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Tyson
"Fatigue Makes Cowards of Us All" Originally by Lombardi or Patton but I heard Holmes say it once i believe.
I mentioned this quote of SRR before. Reflecting on youth, prime and downfall.
When asked about his declining skills:
"The fighter himself is the first to know it. You find you have to think your punches. The punches you use to throw without thinking, you now have to reason.
It is something that happens to all of us once the instinctive inventions and discoveries have been made. Then we reach back into the library of our experience, and what was once the product of inspiration is now merely the result of reason."
Now that's some scientific talk there:
Sugar Ray Robinson
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Sugar Ray would rule the world today.
A highly intelligent, well-rounded, and versatile person in and outside the ring.
Ali, Cobb & Tyson are the best at funny quotes. Ray Robinson above- not a quote, rather a reflection. A britlliant quote IMO!!!!!!
Andre Ward made a comment I really respect. When asked why not come back? You got another good fight or 2 left to which he replied, "Why can't I leave... with one or 2 fights left in me?"
Do we really want our boxers to leave with nothing left to give as a human being? Leave it all in the ring fight by fight, but not leaving the game- with nothing left to give are 2 totally different scenarios.
That makes Ward's comment one for the ages.
IMO.
