Macklin talks a lot of sense at times, but I can't agree with him about that being Gavin's best professional performance. If it was, that just shows how much Gavin has blown his career.
How can it be a great performance if you've let your opponent impose HIS style on YOU?
There's a lot to like about Eggington, but a fully fit, dedicated Gavin with the boxing skills he has surely should be too much for him.
It's almost like Gavin was punishing himself for his lack of professionalism by seeing how much he could take.
I'm pleased for Eggington though , he's down to earth and he deserves everything he gets out of the sport.
