Could it be that there is so much ward hate around here that everyone is extra sensitive and may have even been extra generous to kovalev?

There is Ward hate on this forum and I'm a big fan of Ward but I don't think it was enough to take the belts.

Close rounds and Ward was better on the inside...but I don't think it was a clear win.

Trust me, I had kovalev winning and it was not a clear win but in no way a robbery.

Close fight, American judges leaned towards to American, I had it to Kov but I don't think it was a robbery as such.

Just frustrating that the judging was so predictable, their only saving grace is that they all had it close on their cards as well.

I'm just waiting for a certain someone to be summoned to the thread and start pedalling shit again, which is almost as predictable as the judges

I scored the fight 112-115 for Kov and even though Sergey got fucked on the scorecards he still beat up Andre Ward and busted up his face dropping him once and hurting him several times in the fight.... And the judges can't take that from Kov....

Ward has a frustrating style that's not very entertaining , he did everything to suck the life out of the fight

But it is effective in terms of landing punches

Kov did so much more to make a fight of it but that doesn't mean he won

There is some truth to this.

I wanted to watch it again but I really don't want to waste my Sunday evening on a hugging wlad style WWE snorefest.

They are both to blame for all the clinching but Ward is the better inside fighter.

I really don't know who wins the rematch but you would think that Ward has the advantage as he can make the adjustments.

Round 1: Hard Kov jab rattles Ward. Not much else. 10-9 Kov
Round 2: Knockdown. 10-8 Kov
Round 3: Not much actually connected from either side, but gave the edge to Ward. 10-9 Ward
Round 4: Ward does precious little except for meaningless pawing. 10-9 Kov
Round 5: Close round, but gave edge to Kov. 10-9 Kov
Round 6: Clear round for Kov. Ward going backwards and grappling (I hate grappling). 10-9 Kov
Round 7: Could call this one even, but I'll generously give it to Ward. 10-9 Ward
Round 8: They BOTH did a lot of missing, not just Kov. 10-9 Ward
Round 9: 10-9 Kov
Round 10: Ward bolo'ed..... Kov jabbed him in the face. Clear round for Kov. 10-9 Kov

We're conditioned to be so skeptical that at this point nothing would faze me. It's too bad boxing has to be this way.
