I personally find millenials to be utterly DEVOID OF PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS, dreadfully INEPT IN INTERPERSONAL SITUATIONS, horrifically IGNORANT OF HISTORY, and completely SELF-ENTITLED LAZY WHINING BRATS.

and that's just a rough snapshot.

Yes because computers do everything for them. Look no further than the new Mickey Mouse Club, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, et al don't SOLVE any problems they get "Toodles" to fix everything. Toodles being some sort of robot half slave half pet.

If there is a problem they just holler "Oh Toodles" and boom, problem solved....and yeah I understand that Millennials aren't currently watching that shit, but they were brought up on that kind of stuff.

They don't "get" human interaction, it's mind boggling...they'll chit chat away all day on the interwebs and in real life

And yes, I realize the irony of posting this here....on a forum on the interwebs

How much interaction with the kids are you two really having? I typically teach about 200 young adults each week and see none of what you are saying.Sure they have cell phones and social networks, but they also have access to information and know a lot. The notion that kids don't know history or how to reason or discuss ethics is silly. They can even talk about these things in a second language and sometimes to a shockingly impressive degree. There are no tantrums, inability to reason, none of that. These are young adults and they are just fine. Now the job market they will go into is not fine, but that's not their fault!

Those 200 are Kyongi mid-quality. In a crisis they will not know how to behave. Of course in a classroom they can comport themselves in constructive ways. It is all a simulation of real life. But in actuality they will temper-tantrum/stamp & stomp/whine and Korean Suicide City off 63 Building.

    Plus CANDLE ZOMBIE and CRAZY.COW.

    What utter poppycock.

You need to get away from the battered women, immigrants and subways and start talking to genuine intelligent young people on campuses. A few whiners caught on camera do not represent the multitude of decent, right minded young folk that are out there. 'Monsters' and 'Entitlement'. Really? The entitlement is the baby boomers wanting a nice life whilst their kids, grandkids and great grandkids etc have to pay for it whilst they themselves get less and less with each passing generation and see the super rich getting richer and the poor in trailers getting poorer.

Something has to give and it would be great to see the young take back what is theirs. Their time is now, but of course the baby boomers will sit by and let snipers be aimed at the entitled occupy crowd because 'Look at them, they are so entitled and monstrous'. How about it is just right?

I'm literally telling two employees they have to get out into the real world, get some scars and eat some dirt. Living with mummy and daddy at the age 23,24,25 but -not- working additional hours or pulling your weight is pretty much where I stop listening to someone. Health, dumb decisions you have since corrected, and unforeseen circumstances I get. But there is a subtle shift in many young people I see who have literally become too content and complacent...soft! I had a girl come to me and ask for a recommendation to an Emergency clinic..can't do it. Told her she would be rolled over, out of her depth and has been just "getting by". Zero time management skill, little self awareness and waaaaaaay to co dependent with no initiative and ability to multi task. Had it been my call they'd be retrained from day one or worse. I left that part out.

reminds me of a fighter who skates by on weak comp and suddenly finds themselves with a top tier contender.

These losers can't do SHIT on their own. Theyre all about pointing, clicking, friending, unfriending, they fall apart at the slightest opposition like little pansy snowflakes.

Just barely getting by through spoilt temper tantrums. Spot on. These aren't just battered women, undocumented or F-1 students.

The children of baby boomers were more successful than their parents. The millenials are the first in a long time to do worse. Yes factory jobs are leaving the us but new industry has popped up everywhere. The government did poor planning seeing this. I know many babyboomers who did quite well with no reliance on the government. It was the age where you could start out sweeping floors and end up running th company. My father did so and never once took money from the government. He was contacted to study the collapse of the World Trade Center as he was known as a top metallurgist in the country. He did this as I mentioned, by starting out sweeping floors in a factory in Massachusetts . My grandfather grew up in an era where Irish Catholics were not hired due to prejudice but was able to start his own business with success. Once again miles, you are off on American history which I know a bit about having grown up and studied my country. The hippies did have problems but were involved in stopping the war in Vietnam. I know some of South Koreans oppression of women but can't lecture you as I've never immersed myself in your country. I do have exposure to China but am no expert but their economy is an overheated paper tiger and I and many other economists of note forsee many problems I the near future. xi is not helping as he is busy consolidating power and trying to bring communism back to the forefront. Even environmental protestors are being arrested. It is hard to maintain a prosperous country with so much government illegalities. @denilson200

Wages have been in decline since the 1960's. Only sending women out to work has managed to prop up family income so that the income decline doesn't look even more pronounced. In turn that meant kids were seeing even less of their parents. In turn more and more families started to break up. This all started in the 1960's and has got worse ever since. There has been no progress since then, only mirrors. They say things got better under Reagan, but all you saw was a massive expansion of credit and deregulation which fueled greater inequality. Roll on 2008 and everyone is in debt, you can get a mortgage without a stable job and a few thousand dollars laid down, you can borrow a hundred thousand for a degree in knitting, and meanwhile there are no jobs as manufacturing has gone to Mexico or China and graduates can look forward to serving in Starbucks. Oh, and an average of 10,000 dollars a year per person on health care despite a declining life expectancy. The kids all say "Yay Daddy, I shouldn't frown because everything is wonderful". If you so much as frown you get called a 'monster' on the Internet. "Look at you, you are so entitled". Entitled? The world has gone wrong and everyone is a debt slave and the kids are the entitled ones? You couldn't make it up!

Your father was able to move up the ladder because he was white. Period.

YES - He work hard and he probably bust his ass, but his hard work was met with an access to opportunity that if he was black would been denied.

Your grandfather was able to move up the ladder because he was white. Period

When the Irish 1st came to America (the mid to late 1800s), they had had almost no experience with blacks. Yet, they had had considerable experience with the English, most all of which had been negative: centuries of overt oppression, virtual enslavement and state terror imposed upon the Irish by Anglos.

Now what you do you think the Irish done when they 1st arrived in the states ?

To make it easy for you - I'll give you two options

    1) Do you think the Irish immigrants detested and fought against the Anglo elite ? (Something they were told to do so by their religious leaders in their mother country because they had been the “slaves of the British” for generation)

    Or

    2) Do you think the Irish immigrants recognised the status differences between those who were white and those who were not, and, desiring to be closer to the top than the bottom, swallowed their pride, joined the club of whiteness and joined in with the oppression of black folks ?

    Answer = I'll give you a clue....it's not #1

After a very short time in the states, Irish immigrants were rioting against blacks (as with the New York draft riots during the Civil War), joining in the barring of blacks from labor unions, and seeking to “become white” by assimilating to the white WASP system that was firmly in place.

That's how the white club works.

Same way when the Italians and Jews came to America they were not seen as white at first even though they pretty much looked it.

Only when they showed themselves willing to carry out white club duties (Hate on black people. Have mostly white friends, Marry white. Don't challenge white racism) were they admitted and were able to enjoy its privileges.

Had they kept their culture, married blacks or made common cause with black, they would have stayed at the bottom and would be regarded much as Latinos are now.

Get the F**K out my face with that bootstraps sh*t.
