In case anyone actually wondered the real reason UFC guys are getting boxibg licenses it is to get protection via the Muhammad Ali act.

The act is being ammended soon to include all fight sports but fighters are getting boxing licenses now to be protected now. To force UFC to disclose financial records, make current contracts illegal, and negotiate new contracts with the leverage of knowing the financial particulars.

To expound. People say that the UFC wouldn't allow McGregor to fight Mayweather. Well, now that he has a boxing license they couldn't say fuck all. Because his UFC contract is illegal under the Muhammad Ali Act. It does not yet apply to MMA but it soon will and it does apply in regards to McGregor boxing. He probably just did this to threaten taking them to court to get them to show the financial particulars to negotiate big money.
