Sucks seeing so many talking about weight. Seems rather absurd to me making such excuses pre-fight.

Oh but Roy, Roy put on much more mass. And he was 35 by the time he lost.

Dropping 13 pounds in 9 months is nothing. The injury actually helped him weight wise because it gave more time to get back to normal size. Remember, Kell carried the extra weight a very short amount of time. And that's critical. Put on 5 pounds and then drop it. Then put on 5 pounds and carry it for a year then drop it. You will see a distinct difference.

Just put all the excuses to the side. We have a great fight here and that happens very rarely in this sport. Enjoy it.

I'm not using it as an excuse & I don't think others are either. It is something that needs to be taken into consideration tho. Just like how Brook looks after his injury & how he is after the GGG loss. It's not an excuse but a reality. Brook may come in unaffected & near 100% but we won't know until the fight. I would have thought a boxing forum would be the perfect place to discuss such possibilities.

Perhaps you and others don't know what excuse means? There is absolutely nothing in the word excuse that means it is not reality.

You are trying to imply the posters are trying to use it to justify a poor performance. While we are trying to discuss whether or not it will play a factor. It matters little in the outcome because Brook has accepted the weight so win or lose there are no excuses one you enter the ring. Brook may well look like sh*t and be weight drained on fight night. No excuses just a possibility.

It sucked to see you giving Brook shit for weeks suggesting he wouldn't take the fight. It seemed absurd to be making such claims pre-fight.

Perhaps you dont know what hypocrisy means?

I think most promoters would love to have Spence. De La Hoya just laying the ground work for possible future dealings.

He was struggling massively to make 147 for fights before the Golovkin fight.

It's not an excuse to wonder how much getting back down to 147 is going to take out of him. It's not like he lives a monastic lifestyle in between fights. He would probably have been 200 going into camp for this fight.
