Lemieux is almost always in a good fight. The only real exception was against GGG because he knew how that would end. I think that he will come forward on Stevens. Stevens just isn't good. I've seen him fight a lot and I've never once been impressed.

I was shocked when I found out that he was a decorated amateur. He fights like someone with no amateur background and relies purely on athleticism and his punch.

I have been impressed with a number of Stevens' knockouts (Ayala, Teixeira, Majewski etc) but I agree that I have never really thought of him as much more than a gate keeper at best. Apart from N'Jikam; Lemieux's record is severely lacking also. I favor Lemieux but really don't have much faith in either fighter. Let the best man win.

Unbeaten Yves Ulysse Jr just stopped previously unbeaten Zachary Ochoa. The corner stopped it at the end of the 7th after Ochoa got beaten up for almost the entire round.

Gamboa an unofficial 145 and again rewarded for it. How many lives does this cat have.

Lot's of watching each other over 1 and 2. Gamboa 2-0 and highlight is Kellerman and Lampley dropping Loma vs Gamboa as legitimate . Very pedestrian thus far

Gave Alvarado 4th. Gamboa is still the wrecking ball trying to wear a stiff suit and overthinking things. He is better a free swinger, it's what got you there. very one punch at a time here. 3-1 Gamboa and snoozing

This fight followed the script - two sparko merchants, short and sweet. I actually thought they'd be cagey, with a distance fight possible, but from the opening seconds Lemieux was in full chinner merchant mode. You've got no chance surviving against an aggressive sicko puncher if you can't make them miss. Even Lemieux's blasts to the arms and gloves look sickening.

I'd like to see Lemieux vs Eubank Jr. Love to see how eager the young fella is to get inside looking for a tear-up topped off with an over elaborate highlight reel uppercut after feeling a couple of atomic blasts. We'll soon see if all the "he's got his dads chin" merchants are correct or not (personally think Jr will come unstuck in tear-up mode against world-class bangers).

((Well done @Beanz for posting those fight times, I woke up at ten to five and immediately remembered reading your post, otherwise i'd have been pottering around, making a cup of tea oblivious to the fact I could catch the fight live))

Because of styles and all that I think Billy Joe has a great chance of boxing Lemieux's bonce off. I even think he could bust him up and force a late-ish stoppage. Billy Joe will make him miss, he'll be cutely slipping and sliding - not blocking - which will make Lemiuex look like a neanderthal trying to get on the inside, and he showed against Lee, if he times you right you'll know about it.

However, obviously you can make a great case for Lemiuex walking straight through him. He has the power, experience, bollocks.

    Great matchup.

well that was pretty fucking brutal wasn't it.

Stevens was out cold, if Garcia is currently holding KO of the year then this is a serious close second.

Lemieux v BJS would be a cracking match up on styles, I'd like to see BJS 'box his bonce off'' as Fenster said, I have always like him but since he has won his belt there is a hell of a lot of questions about his desire, hopefully Booth can get his mind back in the game and this fight could be made.
