No it would not. If Wlad beats AJ then it would confirm that he is a great heavyweight champion not just because of the record number of defences but also because he can come back from a defeat at his age.

If Wlad won I am sure there would be a rematch or Wlad would try and unify against Wilder.

So the future would be bright.

well if there was something to look forward to if he won then it would be the first time there would be something to look forward to whilst wlad was champ

and he might have the record number of defences but he also has the record number of shit world title fights that any fighter has had in any weight in the whole of history

and you cant argue with that

I just can't shake the feeling that Joshua having never fought anyone with Klitschko's experience will be found out. Wlad doesn't really need this fight. He is well educated, financially secure and has all his faculties in order. His inactivity is worrying but may also be beneficial. He may be coming in well rested and refreshed. I keep asking myself how is Joshua going to deal with frustration and the longer it goes does the mental side of it affect him worse? I'm really looking forward to this fight which is something I haven't really said about a Wlad fight before.

I think AJ showed good patience against Whyte and Breazeale and stayed composed and focused after landing huge punches early on that didn't quite put the opponent down.
Also the scare against Whyte where he showed a wise head, went back to basics got the jab working and wore Whyte down before banging him out.
I don't think we need to worry about AJ losing focus/panicking more the gas tank running out late in a fight like Frank Bruno used to.

I can't see a way Wlad can handle such a young, strong, fast and proper athlete for too many rounds.

Can only see an AJ KO win

Agree 100%. Still don't understand why Wlad wants this fight. The only way I can see Wlad winning if AJ chin is made of China.

I think Wlad believes AJ is untested and that he will not handle the pressure of going into the later rounds. Wlad hopes that AJ will fall apart and maybe even stop him late like Witherspoon v Bruno. That is his main tactic in winning the fight.

This could turn out to be a absolute beating for Wlad, he only has one chance in my eyes and thats get Joshua stone cold as once AJ gets going it s all over, no way an old inactive negative clincher is going to outwork over power a young terminator like Joshua, Wlad is no Mayweather, he couldn't even handle Tyson Fury.
