That's just a reflection of how weak the division is/has been.
Bellew's fight was in a football stadium with 15,000+ punters - that makes it big by most fights standards let alone the cruiserweight division. And it was a memorable fight - As underdog he got off the floor to completely iron out a feared puncher in a shootout.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
That tells you everything you need to know about the WBC.
They themselves rate Evander Holyfield as the best ever cruiserweight champion they have had. That's the same Evander Holyfield who held their title for a year and never even defended it as far as I'm aware.
Thats hugely disrespectful to their other cruiserweight champions.
On what criteria did they make this judgement? The only possible answer is they decided he was their best cruiserweight because of his achievements with OTHER governing bodies .... yet they refuse to rank fighters rated by the other bodies.
Hypocrisy? Surely not![]()
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
It's an ideal situation for all concerned. Bellew can sit back and wait to see if Haye can recover from his injuries and then make a rematch which is easily the biggest money fight he can get. Even if he loses to Haye he can then fight for a belt at cruiser if he wants to. Sanctioning bodies are a joke but we all knew that anyway.
Bellew will retire if he loses to Haye or try to cash in a 3rd if it is close.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
