Strange how Marquez knocking out Pac was a lucky punch or fluke, but nothing lucky about martinez knocking out Williams.
Marquez was looking for that counter right, as PAC was coming in, all fight. I am a PAC fan, but that knockout was no fluke.

No disrespect to Pavlik, as I'm sure he was a better fighter than me, but I never thought he was truly elite.
He was heavy handed and quite exciting to watch - definitely world class for a very short period of time. However, his prime was too short and h never really dominated in the way a genuine elite boxer does.
its a shame that his out of the ring problems cut his career short, but the fact is that they did so his career ended up slightly disappointing. Sure, he beat Hopkins (but I never thought that Hopkins was the all-time great that everybody seems to think he was, and h didn't really face a host of other world class fighters.
A little bit of e can't help thinking that he got a lot more attention because he was a white American, at a time when there were comparatively few white Americans at the top of the sport.

What an idiot ..... of course, Pavlik beat Taylor not Hopkins!!!

It was a bad move and mis-calculation by his team to move up and face Hopkins. I thought from the beginning that Hopkins' style was all wrong for him.
Interest any?
Hell no. Cant think of anyone notable I would be interested in seeing Pavlik fight at cruiser really. I assumed he may have a kind of farewell fight at home, and the opponent wouldnt really matter.
That sounds a bit steep. A journeyman fight to see where he is fine, but CW against a good fighter. Far too risky IMO.
