This is the first I heard of it. Bugger. He was a brilliant Bond. I watched the one where he was skiing down a hill being chased by the baddies at a cinema in Sunderland and when he skis off the cliff and the Union Jack parachute opened the entire cinema stood up and cheered.

ah yes at first I thought it must be 1985's 'View to a Kill' starring Christopher Walken as bad guy Zorin (a role originally offered to David Bowie and then Sting).

but then I searched and.....good lord there are a ton of James Bond ski chases, I mean a TON

Yours was from 'The Spy Who Loved Me'

But there's 'View to a Kill' & 'For Your Eyes Only' as well which are Moore movies.

On another day this sad news would be dominating the headlines over here.

But 89 is a damn good innings. I'd take it.

For me the best Bond but that's because I was born in his era. I'd see Moore on the big screen playing Bond, my first The Spy Who Loved Me, then see Connery playing Bond on the TV. At that age there's no comparison.

And he still makes me laugh now with his raised eyebrow and wise cracks.

    RIP legend

Carey Grant was supposed to be the original James Bond, but didn't care for the role and Sean Connery was given the part.

Grant would have been an epic Bond

One of those could've been moments in acting

Like Selleck as Indiana Jones and Dustin Hoffman as Rambo. Imagine
