Ward/Kovalev 2...who wins?

He was hurt and getting beat up on the ropes. Go down and you get a count, if someone's getting beat up and not dropping, of course the ref would stop it.

You are a terrible judge. Ward was 6-1 down at the time of the stoppage according to me and Lederman, was outlanded in all but 1 round, and Kovalev was forcing the fight. Even if you give Ward a 10-8 round 8 he still had a lot to do with only 4 rounds left. Kovalev was hit low 3 times in a row and they waved it off. What kind of con game is that? At least have the decency to give the man a count and weigh up the situation a little. Kovalev motioned a low blow earlier and was laughed off. Then emboldened Ward decided to just do it again and again and again. It was terrible.

Should have been a great spectacle and it was ruined. BTW you should learn to score a fight. The only thing up about Ward was his hair.

After seeing a replay, Kovalev was clearly hit low the last punch before the stoppage and I think that Weeks was looking for a chance to stop it rather than if the punch were a foul. That last low blow clearly hurt Kovalev.

Again, I think Ward was on his way to win either way. Kovalev was about gassed out and ward always comes on stronger as the fight progresses. It's just unfortunate that Weeks stole a legitimate victory from Ward.

Bad job by Weeks on the stoppage. I don't think he did awful before that but the whole last round he seemed a little too ready to stop the fight.

Clearly the last shot was square on the balls (the first three being borderline low as Kov said).
Just notice Kov's bum jolting back; that's definately not a body shot. As someone said, it looked more like resignation and I think it's because of all the stuff Ward was getting away with. (One of the first low blows he complained about was just laughed off by the ref).

I think ward seemed to be getting an edge during those rounds anyway.

Not only were the blows quite low, but I also think that Kovy would deserve a count and not get a stoppage right away. Just my 2 cents, but I think that the issue of these last 2 fights are pretty controversial and will do nothing to improve boxing's image

The fight was fought under the unified rules of the boxing commisions. That means no standing eight count. He CAN NOT give him a standing eight count. If we're going to ignore what was happening in the fight for details let's get the details right.

I think that Kovalev was visibly distraught after the fight. He shouldn't fight Ward again. As long as this fight didn't totally ruin him, there are still great fights at LHW for him. He can still rule the division if Ward actually does move up to cruiser
