They are a tier 2 country, so not too shabby. I think they are ranked in the top 15 in the world, which is pretty good by anyone's standards.
They play in the Six Nations every year, against Tier 1 and traditionally very strong teams every year so their results always reflect that, but they've produced some wonderful players ..... Sergio Parissei would have walked into ANY international side over the past decade.

Obviously X knows nothing about cricket.

Actually, my dad was a professional cricketer, who played for Glamorgan (when they were good). He bowled Geoff Boycott and others out a few times. I've been dragged to many a game of cricket over the years by him. Met a few of the greats too.
We bought him a weekend away in Cardiff this year, for his birthday. He went to the tour of Glamorgan cricket ground as a punter ..... and the tour guide recognised him and made a big fuss of him!
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
