I felt sorry for him when he lost in his title challenges. He gave it a real go against Vitali and Stiverne.

He wasn't always that big. Pretty lanky when he was young actually, though his dad probably was emphasizing skill over physique, so he never really looked cut or like he was doing a lot of cardio as he filled out with age.

Fat or not, there is one other undeniable good thing about the recent AJ-Wlad fight, other than the fact that it was the best HW fight in decades. It was seeing two professional athletes in the ring that LOOKED like professional athletes. We've become so used to blubbery fighters with man-boobs that it's become somewhat of a norm.

And yes.... Chris Areola (ironic in itself) was/is fat.
