Someone trying to get Cotto permanently injured? There is a reason Cotto never ventured to 'legit' middleweight and it's because he knows his limitations at this point. Cotto has been eyeing the exit door after a great career for some time and has stated again December is it for him. Respects to him but honestly it's a step sideways at the least for Golovkin after majority of fans, save for some , had him beating the man in Canelo who himself already beat the same Cotto convincingly. Cotto is a 'name' but Golovkin has new exposure after Saturday and needs go forward on his own terms. Golovkin should camp out on the lawn of Saunders and hope to speed up rematch with Canelo. Or do something absolutely nutty like fight one of his mandatories like Charlo.

I'd like to see Cotto make a final run at 154 where many top guys are sorting each other out soon. Here's a crazy idea...if..there's that word again..Trout beats Hurd and grabs his strap Cotto tries for redemption and walks into the sunset as champion, not a stepping stone scalp.

Absolute garbage fight. Cotto is way too small and is way way past his best. It's also garbage for a rematch between GGG and Canelo to wait a year instead of doing it in December. No reason for a stay busy fight.

It's a better fight than Kell Brook and as a stay busy it makes sense from a GGG perspective. A name, staying active and maybe another comparable Canelo opponent. However, from a Cotto point of view it probably seems like hard work and it doesn't seem like he wants any of that.

It's only a name. The Brook fight wasn't a great pick but st least he was known by most as the best welterweight in the world at the time. Much better than Cotto is at the moment.

Cotto said he wants a big fight and that's the biggest out there for him. If he is really done by the end of the year it's short notice.

With Pac out maybe Cotto could travel and fight Horn at a CW. I think that could be fun.

I too would like to see him avenge to Trout loss if he can. That was an upset and Trout is a good fighter.

What a shit fight GGG v Cotto is. I don't think Cotto will finish on that note Anyway.
Cotto wants one last mega payday, to get that he's probably gonna have to fight someone that beats him.
I don't see why Hearn hasn't been busting a gut to get Cotto v Brook made.
In the current U.K. Climate, he would make it ppv and perhaps a stadium fight. That would be enough to give Cotto and Brook the money they want, and although they will see it as a perfect way for Brook to step up AND get a title, I think that Cotto may also fancy his chances.
The only reason I can see that they don't try to make this would be if Brook is finished after his injuries.

Who would want to see Brook quit on PPV again? Does he really deserve a big fight at home again after losing twice in a row? I think Khan deserves it more and he'd leave home to get it.

Khan does not deserve it either by that criteria.

Khan hasn't lost two in a row in his own backyard

Khan has not fought enough to warrant any fight. He is semi retired.
