I'm a big Golovkin fan. I'd like to see him get some justice against Canelo and hope he doesn't suddenly get old.

Loved PAC as well, but he is not really active now. Hugely admired Floyd's skills and composure.

I think Crawford is excellent. For someone less mainstream check out Naoya Inoue.

Loma might be special yet, but I need to see more of him.

He's more mainstream than some of my emerging favorites.

With Kosei Tanaka moving to 112, a showdown with Daigo Higa is mouthwatering for me. Higa is seek and destroy, a little tank.

Brian Carlos Castano already has Lara avoiding the high risk low reward bout.

Hiroto Kyoguchi is another young Japanese wonderkind.

Estrada is still one of my favs.

Tete is finally getting some recognition.

I really like Nery but the whole tainted meat thing has put a bit of a dampener on him.

    Daniel Roman is severely underrated.

I think Regis Prograis marks his mark in 2018.

Sergiy Derevyanchenko and Oleksandr Gvozdyk are the boogymen of their divisions.

It's sad that 3 of the WBSS Cruiserweight semi finalists will have to lose. I hope they continue to get respect for challenging themselves and fighting the best.

Sergey Kovalev: beat whoever is put in front of him but specifically beat any of Stevenson, Jack, Bivol, Beterbiev, Alvarez, Gvozdyk, or Barrera. Preferably two of them this year.

Mikey Garcia: beat Lipinets and unify at lightweight. Fight Loma too if possible.

Abner Mares: beat LSC, then the winner of Quigg and Valdez, then maybe Frampton.

No way Sergey beats Beterbiev, not a chance in hell

I see it as a pretty close fight.

That’s pretty extreme. Kovalev has proven to be a top p4p fighter while Beterbiev is in the process of proving to be special. I understand thing that Beterbiev wins but I can’t believe that you think there is no way that Kovalev wins.

Okay fine, maybe there is a chance, but I feel like Beterbiev has Sergey's card. Kovalev is the type of fighter who likes to control the ring and the pace. Beterbiev isnt the type of fighter to let you do that. He comes forward the whole time, slips punches really well and keep throwing non stop, i believe he threw 1,100 punches his last outing and landed at close to 30%. He's a work horse and I think over a twelve round stretch can make Kovalev crack. Previous to his second loss to Andre I might have given more of a chance, but seeing him take an out like that is a big concern with a guy like Artur.

No one beats Kovalev apart from Ward.

Off the top I might try 2 categories to get around just 3
    up and comers non 'champ'..

Tugstsogt Nyambayar...real early and already 25 but I like this guy.
Jamal James...took a bump vs Ugas but think he'll be fun to watch.
Sergiy Derevyanchenko...ok he's on the older side but he's sitting on the cusp of 'it'. Tremendous skill set.

    Here now and taking names..
    Errol Spence jr
    Terrance Crawford
    Oscar Valdez

    Personal favs

Sam Eggarito - hope to see him against Margarito, Carson Jones, Joe Pigford, Liam Smith or Khan. Hope to not see him against Brook.

Zolani Tete - The Rigo that nobody knows. Hopefully Frank can get him a long overdue BIG fight. Burnett/Nery unifications would be terrific, McDonnel, Zhakiyanov, Warren or Solis. Just get him a bloody fight against a name (that nerds rate at least)

Nonito Donaire - yeah, he's a bit too small for 126 and a bit past his best, however, he still possess one of the most lethal left hands in boxing (only second to Inoue). He turns Frampton into a drunk, then comes back to the UK for a unification with Quigg (after he KO's Valdez) or Selby (after he KO's Warrington).

    Elite/Mainstream favs

Inoue - see Tete wishlist at bantam.

Loma - hopefully he keeps pissing off the white man haters.

Bivol - he will be regarded elite by the end of the year.

I’m realising for the first time since I started following the sport in the late 80s I don’t actually have three favourite fighters active at the moment.

I’d like to see Haye Bellew finish with a double knockout.

Joshua Wilder in a Hearns Hagler type three round war.

Fury get himself back in fighting shape - mentally as well as physically.

In fact Fury probably my favourite if he can get back.

    1. Loma: would like to see him continue doing what he has been doing: fighting top tier fighters/talent, looking spectacular, and making them quit.
    2. Errol Spence: Would like to see him unify vs Thurman, and then fight Crawford in a mega fight.
    3. Mikey Garcia: Want Mikey to fight Linares and Lipnets to unify the weight class (I like one champ per division).
