Don't know how he's defined as Britain's worst Boxer , and I think it's pretty fucking harsh and disrespectful to call anybody Britain's "worst" Boxer.
Kristian Laight has lost 267 out of 287 fights for example and like Deakin has shared the ring with loads of champions. But he's only ever been knocked out 5 times! that's fucking amazing! Guys like him are picked to give a test and some much needed experience to up and coming guys.
far from being negatively labeled , these guys, Laight in particular deserve more respect than almost every other Boxer out there.
Rant over and @Master , it's not aimed at you, I know you're only putting an article on the forum for info and it's not necessarily your opinion.

Nail on the head. Boxing simply does not function without these guys. Kristian and a lot of other pros turn up in shape week in week out and take new fighters rounds. They make them miss, work and move and debuts or early fights under the lights with the roar and expectation of a crowd cannot be replicated in sparring. They have to deal with a lot of styles and spend their weekends traveling to the home fighters back yard for not a huge amount of money.

You would think one would come to realize boxing just might not be the best way to make a living after what his 17 consecutive loss. Maybe his 31?

May be worth knocking this on the head as disrespectful to valid participants in our sport. We have regulations in the sport to make sure that participants are fit, ready and able to take part, if they do not make it, then so be it, such is life. Nobody would dream of criticising an amateur jockey, or a self promoted motor racing driver, or a golfer or snooker player. This is the country that produced Eddie the Eagle for Christs sake!

    Wanker.

The reporter who wrote that is probably an effete, bearded metropolitan latte-swigging tosser who has never been near a boxing gym.

Notwithstanding the sheer lack of logic and stupidity in calling somebody 'Britain's worst' anything .... the guy was a journeyman who fought several times a month without any proper training against some very talented guys. The sport has and will always need journeymen.

Anybody who steps into a ring is likely braver than the lazy journalist who wrote this, never mind somebody born with two club feet who fought despite that disability
