I thought GGG was too respectful of Canelo early on. He is usually the better technical boxer, and I think Canelo's skill and poise surprised him.

Alvarez fast hands will always win him rounds over Golovkin, and he started and finished the better. He was very elusive, especially against the ropes and made GGG miss quite wildly.

The way GGG wins this fight is on fitness and workrate. He will need to be relentless in there as Canelo does like to take breaks in rounds quite a bit. That's what won him the middle section of the fight.

Both guys are proven, and have very good chins. It's a great matchup ..... again.

Lets hope that we don't get another very very poor decision. I'm not holding out hope though.- the 25 year old cash cow from Mexico with a huge US following v the hugely avoided Kazakh who has never generated huge numbers. Hmm.

I think it will be the opposite. GGG will win even if he does not deserve the decision.

It will be a bit like Lewis v Holyfield 2 or MAB v Eric Morales 2.

A manufactured trilogy is on the cards

It would be nice if Golovkin did get the win and then just retired. He'd love a trilogy fight though. He made more money from the first one than he's made from the entire rest of his career.

I could see GGG holding back if he is battering the crap out of Canelo just so he could have the 3rd fight. Even holding him up, think BHop was trying to do that against Oscar.

Oh god I hope not. If GGG holds back I'm disowning him as a fan.

Rarely has a matchup been so aptly described in such few, accurate words. I could easily expand on both sides, but no need..... everyone knows the story.
