Nah, Bollocks mate. Some people actually call GGG #1 P4P in the World. If he's anywhere near that and he/they clearly want to continue with it being ppv, you can't be fighting fuckers like Spike O'Sullivan. I can't remember Spike's fight with Eubank Jr. being action packed! it was fucking boring and he quit on his stool ffs.
Fair play, if you're mug enough to fall for this shit , carry on. But Golovkin is making himself look a cunt here. He's supposed to be the #1 in the division and he has to be reduced to living off the scraps Clenbelo feeds him ! And let's be fair , as far as REAL MW rankings go, Canelo isn't even in the shake up really!
The only reason GGG is in this situation is because of Canelo. The worthy opponents are tied up and it is making the best out of a bad sitaution.

Yes, it's Canelo's doing. but if GGG really wants to prove himself , there are options and they involve cancelling the May date and fighting a Month later.
    1. Fight BJS to mop up the belts in June . Warren and BJS have said it's feasible , so let's see who wants it and doesn't want it.
    2. Charlo has a fight in June he could get out of . But since Canelo pulled out, Charlo has gone very quiet. Either GGG doesn't want it or Charlo doesn't.
    3. Jacobs - exactly same situation as Charlo.
But you know as well as I , that GGG will take a bullshit fight because he's still hanging off Canelo's balls and doesn't want to jeopardise the possible fight in September. And that, my pedigree chum, is why GGG is nearly as big a wanker as Canelo!!

The other issue is GGG already started camp; Is more than midway through and a fighter GGG's age shouldn't do long camps unless he's a guy eats his way to oblivion when he's not in camp. If you extend his camp by a month he'll either be over-trained and injured or under-trained and bloated (if he tries to stop cold take a week off and reset).

If you skip the fight he has time to rest/ recoup for 2 months and start training in june or july for an august/september fight. If he fights someone on the same schedule for the may 5 fight, he might be under-prepared for that particular fighter but in peak condition. If you extend the fight an extra month or two, that means he has one and half to two camps back to back and will be past peak and flat for the fight (at his age--young fighters can actually wind up doing it often with little drop off (metabolism and quick recovery times), due to availability of blue chip fights and promo opportunities). Very much the same way as if you give a fighter short notice, he's not on schedule to peak during fight week. His condition might be good but he's not sharp because his reflexes and timing haven't been honed fully yet.

Guys like GGG typically combat this by fighting often to keep the machine running, but once the hemming and hawing started with clenello/GBP, Eubank jr about the money, Jacobs about the split, etc etc.. he fell off that wagon. Once you fall of as an aging fighter, you never truly get back on it.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Vanes Martirosyan at Stub hub is there any truth to this? He's been blowing his twitter up. Jebus just scrap the date man. At least O'Sullivan actually beat a fellow top middleweight, at least going by the numbers.

Fat Dan says it's close to finalized. All this does is put Golovkin in a position to take heat. He's going to annihilate this set up.

I think Martirosyan is a better opponent than O'Sullivan, his inactivity is the problem going into this.

Agree Vanes has faced but come up short against top notch comp but he's not 160 and he's not active. In fairness O'Sullivan will also be swatted around badly clinging onto at least beating a 'top 10' guy and losing to another.

Golovkin was really put into bad situation all around here while big red Howdy doody falls back into his corner eating a salad hopefully. At this point they're just clamoring to fill date to fill a date.
