Gary Russell Jr vs Joseph Diaz

I’m very interested in this fight. I am rooting for Diaz, but I think Russell pulls it off. Russell is a really good fighter, but he is extremely inactive. Supposedly he said that the reason he doesn’t fight much is because of his hands. Diaz may be able to nullify his speed though and get his shots off. I don’t know. It should be a close fight.

Good heads up and talk about a real under the radar match. Have to go with Russell and no idea why he disappeared over a year. Maybe seeing Loma humanized a bit can give him inspiration. Diaz has all the momentum and a helluva opponent to take right out. He may very well be catching Gary at the right time.

This was surely his hardest opponent (besides Lomachenko). After all the not-so-good fighters he faced in the past, I hope he keeps on beating decent opposition like Diaz. I think it was quite an impressive win. Looking forward for more.

Russell has always been a good fighter. He just doesn’t step up. It would be nice if he fought the winner of the Santa Cruz and Mares fight. Then Frampton fights Warrington. Then the winner of each fight.

Or you know what? Just have a featherweight tournament.

Russell looked really good. He withstood Diaz' onslaught then proceeded to out fight him. Diaz had a few moments. I think he improves after this. Over 15 rounds, who knows, I could see a Diaz stoppage.

He needs to target the Santa Cruz/ Mares winner.
