    Little known fact about Johnson

    The Cotton Club

After getting out of prison, Johnson teamed with Budd Levy to open the Cafe de Luxe nightclub in Harlem in 1923. The club was such a hit that gangster Owney Madden decided to muscle his way in to take it over and force Johnson and Levy out. Once he did, Madden gave it a new name, The Cotton Club.

Oh don't be so passive aggressive you're just mad because he cancelled the Korean thing.

S4 master nice try man Trump has had casinos going back 30 years and has had price fights in every weight division several times a year and each one of his casinos and is a boxing aficionado. Sorry you're trying to fit the narrative around the fact but I think you're too blind to see it
Not at all. What makes me mad is the continued belligerence, threats and violence towards people that have done him no wrong. You give someone a chance but when they continue to hang out with war crime states and carry out war crimes sympathy tends to evaporate. What you chaps do within your own borders is up to you, but it was leveled at Master that US politics has sod all to do with Brits. Well, that is nonsense considering the impact US policies have on the world. Obama is not responsible for bombing Syria in 2018 or the appointing of John Bolton to positions of influence or to threatening anyone that trades with Iran. That is the behavior of a tyrant. I do not see any sanctions on Israel for massacring Palestinians, yet he continues to bomb Syria whenever he feels like it. Be reasonable Brock and call out tyranny when you see it.
US politics has sod all to do with Brits because they cannot vote in the US, any discussion outside the US is meaningless, we should just accept that the biggest democracy in the world has voted, and their decision must be respected. If you want to pontificate about foreign affairs, and slag off Trump then join the BBC or Russia today, this is a boxing website.

I rather like Trump in the Whitehouse, partly because so many media forces, institutions and money do not want him in power.

He will be his own person, to an extent. This is something many do not like.

The longer he stays in power, its likely that a lot of gravy trains will be derailed.

Enemy states like EU, China and North Korea don't know how to deal with him yet.

It's all refreshing after all the crap over the last 50 years.

Absolutely correct. 100% bang on. 110% spot on. Trump does things his own way and it's just too bad for all the other mamby pamby get the violins drama queens. Trump does stuff his own way and that's the way it's going to be until 2025. the over-sensitive EU Angela Merkel and ex Nazi Junckers and Sadiq Khan better get used to it. China and North Korea are going down and going down hard.

I have changed my mind. The Jack Johnson pardon ceremony in the Oval Office at the White House was the very height of hypocrisy given the back stories. Bile-inducing IMHO but then I have now done exhaustive research into the Jack Johnson story and what I found was extremely troubling and very, very dark. He should not have been pardoned.

    Yes he should have.

Johnson had the audacity to have white women, beat white men and tell the whole world about it. They made laws and searched for great white hopes to stop him.

Hilarious how he does this with a guy who has been dead more than 72 years ago. Like saying "Look! See?! Me not racist" while minorities, specially blacks, get treated differently compared to Caucasians. Why not do something about our CURRENT situation and how they get treated every day specially by police?

Sly Stallone has just said he's gonna make a movie about Johnson

Sylvester Stallone Reveals Plans To Make Film on Jack Johnson

Days after the presidential pardon of Jack Johnson, Sylvester Stallone has announced plans for a biopic on the first African-American heavyweight champion.
Stallone said Wednesday that his newly launched Balboa Productions will start with a film about Johnson. On Thursday, Stallone stood next to President Donald Trump in the Oval Office as he signed a rare posthumous pardon to Johnson, who served 10 months in prison in what Trump called "a racially-motivated injustice."
Trump has said Stallone was instrumental in bringing Johnson's story to his attention.
Stallone's production company said the film will be fast-tracked with Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures.
Stallone has said Johnson was the basis for the character Apollo Creed in the "Rocky" films. The 71-year-old actor is currently in production on "Creed II" with MGM.

The next round of voting in November may give an indication of change in support amongst non white voters since Trumps election.

The Orange Emperor God was boasting about the increase in black american employment. Is that true? I don't know.

Being cynical here but has Stallone just milked another movie for his own selfish gain?

Well, I suppose it is the outcome that matters isn't it?

Johnson was very very shabbilybtreated by the establishment (who he goaded unmercifully, to be fair). He was hounded around the country and they eventually got him under the Mann Act.

It is very unlikely, though not impossible, that Johnson was pimping out the white women with him. They were definitely prostitutes but Johnson and them a,ways said they were in a 'real' relationship. There was certainly room for reasonable doubt in his conviction

They wanted to join him because he was a threat to the hegemony, and it resulted in himfleeing the country for years and left him broke.

I am glad he has finally been pardoned
