I'm only saying the end of the year because Jermall stated his next fight was in December. If that's the case, it'll more than likely be a tune up type opponent. If that happens, a possible GGG fight gets pushed to around March or April. Leaving neither with enough time for a May fight with Canelo. September would work.
Add in that Oscar was talking about the GGG trilogy being an option, I can see the WBC doing whatever Canelo and Oscar request.
I think Showtime is the obvious choice for GGG to land, but I'm no expert and have no idea what offers he has been receiving.
I not so sure how accurate the statement "The Charlo fight is set to go" is.
Has he announced an opponent? Just look at what has happened, GGG has petitioned the WBC for the option to skip Charlo, he has contacted Saunders and Andrade’s people for if the WBC refuses to allow him to skip Charlo. It seems we must accept that they meant it when they said they would never fight Charlo.
Again, wasn't it Sanchez who said they wouldn't fight Charlo?
The Saunders/Andrade and Jacobs/Derevy winners are bigger, better, more relevant fights in my opinion. What's Charlo's best win at 160? And if he can make millions against Canelo again, why would he bother with Jermall?
Also the Haymon/Oscar beef could also make negotiations frustrating.

Jacobs has the size and movement to give Canelo grief.
