I'm in favor of it although I'm surprised by the number of boxing fans that don't want it. I would set the weight limit at 250 or 260 lbs. That is, any man weighing above that limit could not fight in the heavyweight division, only the super heavyweight division. Regular heavyweights could fight in the super heavyweight division if they wanted to, similar to the way cruiserweights currently sometimes fight in the heavyweight division.
I think that what this would accomplish is to allow "small" heavyweights, say from around 200 lbs. to around 220 lbs., to be able to fight other men of roughly their own size. They wouldn't have to fight Valuev, Tye Fields, Jameel McCline, Michael Grant or the other genuine super heavyweights.
Of course we all know that some of the smaller heavyweights have been the best in boxing history, but the addition of a super heavyweight division wouldn't hurt them at all. In fact, a man such as Holyfield in his prime might be able to hold 2 titles, the heavyweight championship + super heavyweight championship. I don't see anything wrong with this.
