Not sure how well Dave Allen was across the pond. But in America few knew of him. I thought his show Dave Allen @ Large was hilarious. First comedian I ever saw that did jokes on religion, especially Catholics. He usually sipped on scotch while telling such jokes to which I found amazing as a kid.
"mamma.... there's a white dude on t.v. getting drunk while telling catholic jokes!"
Tim Conway just passed away....that dude was HILARIOUS old Carol Burnett Shows man incredible stuff!
Mrs..uh..whiggins!!!!
RIP!!!
@Master Yes, Dave was brilliant, but few Americans watched him. At least everytime I brought his name up.
One skit where he only said yes... he's trying to make out with a woman, he says "yes" she said "no. Then after he gets some, the 3rd time she said yes, he said, no.
By the end of the skit she is chasing him to get some more..he's running his arse off hollering NO!
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
