Just read a bit on this Neeraj Goyat dude. As an amatuer he won the title of India's most promising boxer in 2008 (11 years ago?)
So he turned pro in 2011 & went 0-2-2 in his 1st (4) fights.

2-1 in his last (3) fights in which his loss last summer came at the hands of Sergio Daniel Moreno Martinez 0-0.

After Serg beat Goyat, he went on to lose his next 2 fights making him 1-2


& Goyat's last 2 wins against foes whose records combined 12-10-1. This is who A mere con is fighting?

For £7million who would say no?

Well if they could stomach Bollywood movies, then I guess they'd pay 7 big ones for Najeer the "promising amateur" Goyat vs the Amir "the canvas kisser khan".

The fight will make tons of money, and will cross over to non boxing fans in Arabia

The bout itself is a total mismatch job, but when did that ever matter in boxing (Ali v Juergen Blin, anyone)

Its an 'event' and I bet it is hugely successful at being what they want it to be .....

True, it can be considered an event. Not very eventful IMO, but nonetheless they will get a chance to see a person who came close against a person who didn't.
