Haha yeah if you wanna live in Baltimore of course their is less then EVEN 200 G's. You'll still paying on Baltimore slum about $600/Mon properties tax
    So there are some?
    Ah, Baltimore....

    https://smartasset.com/taxes/marylan...tax-calculator
So there are homes under the price you mentioned?
Some more, some less, but seemingly so unless the site is fake news and for far less in tax than Fats was saying. Less than half in fact.

    https://www.zillow.com/baltimore-md/
So his statement about there being no $200,000.00 homes was inccorrect?
I think he was saying that you can find a cheaper home than 200,000, but it would likely be in a slum and for taxes twice what the tax predictor states.

I think he was being hyperbolic. I think the houses for 8,000 dollars are probably best avoided, but there are likely nice neighborhoods with nice properties at a reasonable 200,000 or even less.

There are no 200,000 properties since 1990

    Try 500,000 and up[/QUOTE]

That's not how I read the quote.

Land is readily available it's just if that's where you WANT to live and what that means for your lifestyle.

Yeah, trailer parks or 50 miles from civilization and jobs, if you want it.

    You'd NEVER live in:

    Casper, Wyoming
    Van Horn, Texas
    Butte, Montana
    Winnemucca, Nevada
    St George, Utah
    Yuma, Arizona
    Florence, Missouri

Get my point? No jobs, middle of the nowhere, suicidal tendencies from severe lack of human interaction, etc. Totally homogeneous, nightmare shit. Cheap houses tho

You were wrong. There is property available at that price. Doesn't matter what it's like or if you would live there. You made an incorrect statement. It' all good, we all make mistakes, just own it.

Those higher priced Baltimore houses looked to be in reasonable areas probably unlike the ones for 8,000 dollars and seemed nice at 200,000 up or down.

You seemingly can buy a nice home there for 200 grand and the property tax is less than half what you stated meaning property tax is more but not that much more than the UK council tax which you called 'peanuts'.

So you were wrong again. Not making a very good track record for yourself. Try thinking before you post.

That does sound even more hyperbolic. Granted I have never been to Baltimore, but houses appear to be reasonably priced. You get a house, space above below and besides and a garden. And looking at some of the inside pictures some look really nicely upgraded. One looks shabby from the outside, but has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms for less than 300,000. A small family wouldn't need the space so could easily go cheaper. Looks splendid. Maybe the area sucks, I don't know, but in terms of value seems within reason.

As long as you avoid mega cities, America seems reasonable to me. Not so bad really.
