Weird that densely populated commercial hives are getting hit more than the arse end of nowhere? No, no not really.

You could assume that of just about anything no? You could confirm it with a cursory glance at a map. No real need to look into it in any detail to establish that.

I know Beanz has mentioned health issues in the past. I’m not as aware of them as you are clearly but I don’t see that it matters.

The young and healthy have died, old and unhealthy have survived. The fact the half a dozen people of varying ages and various states of health might have contracted this with no more than mild symptoms is hardly shocking is it?

You’re considering this no worse that flu right?

Replace Coronavirus with flu. Half a dozen people of various ages and states of health get and survive flu. Big fucking deal right?

    Yet Coronavirus not so plausible?

Then I guess areas with less dense populations would be OK to run business as usual right?

Oh ok, well next time I'll run the post by you before hand and let you edit it as opposed to post and then have you critique it.

Well if you don't see how it matters I guess I'm wrong then

OK so the odds were the same then for the young and healthy vs the old and unhealthy across the board? Is that what you're telling me or are you telling me that there are outliers?

I don't reckon we know for certain one way or another without testing being done.

    https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/heal...019-vs-the-flu
    Infections
COVID-19: Approximately 1,930,780 cases worldwide; 582,594 cases in the U.S. as of Apr. 14, 2020.*

Flu: Estimated 1 billion cases worldwide; 9.3 million to 45 million cases in the U.S. per year.

    Deaths
COVID-19: Approximately 120,450 deaths reported worldwide; 23,649 deaths in the U.S., as of Apr. 14, 2020.*

Flu: 291,000 to 646,000 deaths worldwide; 12,000 to 61,000 deaths in the U.S. per year.

Well it seems that you're more likely by the numbers to CATCH "the flu" and it seems as though at this point you're more likely to die from Chinese coronavirus. Soooo what are the odds Beanz and his family all had the flu vs they all having the Chinese coronavirus? Just based on the numbers it's more likely they had the flu. Now you factor in that they 1) didn't get tested 2) apparently weren't in hospital and 3) none of them died......flu seems more likely just from a numbers standpoint.

But hey, you do you man, I'm open to them having had the Chinese coronavirus, I just think it's crazy lucky if they all had that and if any of them had serious health issues and none of them were tested for it and none were hospitalized (that we currently know of) that would certainly be good fortune on their part and/or mean that maybe the Chinese coronavirus is less dangerous than we have been lead to believe.

I posted this on another COVID thread 10 days ago.

    Re: China, coronavirus etc
Not gonna start yet another thread on COVID-19, so I'll just use this one to put up some commonly accepted statistics:

    Transmission Rate:
    COVID-19: 1.5 to 3.5
    Seasonal Flu: apx. 1.0

    Fatality Rate:
    COVID-19: 0.7 to 3.4%
    Seasonal Flu: 0.1%

    Hospitalization Rate:
    COVID-19: apx. 20%
    Seasonal Flu: apx. 2%

Not as deadly as SARS-CoV in 2003, and definitely not as deadly as MERS-CoV. But definitely not to be confused with the seasonal flu.

People may do with the statistics what they wish... some will choose to follow health authority guidelines and suggestions.... others will not.

Wishing a good health to all.

Here's the bottom line as far as I'm concerned. I deal with numbers. I'll use the ones I have available, trusting they're from a trustworthy source. I'll make my personal decisions based on those numbers.

These numbers, unless they have changed, say COVID-19 is anywhere from 2 to 4 times as contagious as the seasonal flu, and anywhere from 7 to 34 times deadlier.

None of this is to say what anyone should decide to do for themselves. Different governments have handled it way different. Yes.... crowded, populated cities of course are more vulnerable than sparsely populated rural areas.

Older, more susceptible folks are going to naturally be more careful and apprehensive than young healthy folks.

The only caveat here is that most young healthy adults have several older, more susceptible kin. That takes us back to the contagiousness of COVID.

This is the first pandemic ever for most of us, I would assume...... so reactions to it are certain to run the gamut.

If anyone did have Chinese Coronavirus I'd be very interested as to their experience with it and what treatments they received for it.

Lyle I’ve no interest in censoring or editing your posts don’t be daft. We’re all grown ups for the most part. Some things we agree on some not, it’s cool.

I’m not here to answer or question whether beanz and his family had Coronavirus or anything else for that matter. They would appear to be fine, that’s all that matters.

Generally speaking. I think the flu is worse argument is running out of track. If it hasn’t already.

Well you seemingly were perturbed that I focused in on Plymouth like people don't know that's where Beanz is. He's got the Devon flag up, he's constantly on about Plymouth, so I guess I'm a little confused as to why it's so bad that I took the time to do a Google search which took me to a site that showed all different areas of where the Chinese coronavirus is spreading and the impact it's having. I'm just sharing facts I can find and my interpretation of these things.

I'm pleased they're fine as well.

I can't ask a question? Is it indecent to? I mean if they actually had it then that is important information right? It's very pertinent to this topic is it not?

TIC got it. Told it to fuck off and that he wouldn’t be dictated to. It was all over very quickly.

Beautiful response. That was all I was hoping for and if someone said yes, they would have my understanding too. I have no idea what the hysteria is all about, but it is in every thread nowadays.
